Verizon Wireless Mobile IM App Discontinued for Smartphones

If you have a basic phone that was released prior to January 2012, you can still use Mobile IM. However, Support for the AOL Instant Messenger service has been discontinued effective December 30, 2012. You can continue to send and receive instant messages on your basic phone via Windows Live® Messenger or Yahoo! Messenger.
