Verizon Wireless & Bing™
With Bing integrated search capabilities, Verizon Wireless customers will now have easier access to context-relevant search results to improve their mobile experience. Depending on your device, you will be able to use voice commands and typed queries and even select to use location-aware searches to receive highly relevant search results, including maps, directions, traffic information, information on local businesses, movie theaters and show times, gas prices, and weather. In addition, you will also get search results that include news and entertainment content such as V CAST downloadable full-track songs, ringtones and ring back tones. What It Means
Bing can be accessed in a variety of ways:
- From your device's home screen.
- By downloading the application.
- Through our Mobile Web services.
You can still access alternative search services via the browser or by bookmarking them.
How is Bing Available
Bing is the default search for Verizon Wireless' Mobile Web Portals like VZStart, Mobile Web 2.0 and Mobile Web 3.0 as well as the search for native browsers on most devices. There will also be a free Bing app available for download that will appear on the device's home screen for the customer to initiate the download. The Bing application is also available through Media Center on many devices as well. The app is independent of any changes to the browsers or portals.
You can now search for places easier using Bing in VZ NavigatorSM. On select devices, local search is by Bing. To make sure you are using Bing, look for the Bing logo in VZ Navigator’s search bar.
Note: Use of the service is subject to data rates based on your plan.
