Text Status (Non-Registered User)
After sending a message, the web page will display a Text Status page. Click "Update Status" to determine if the message was "Accepted by network" and "Message delivered to handset".Only digital 2-Way Short Message Service (SMS) and Verizon Wireless Enhanced Message Service (EMS) capable handsets provide Confirmed Delivery.
In order to retrieve Text Status at a later time, enter corresponding information into the "Tracking ID'" and "Recipient" input fields.
Next, click the "Update Status" button.
The status of this message will then be displayed.
Text Personalization (Nickname)
Creating a Nickname allows you to receive text messages that are not addressed to your 10-digit Verizon Wireless mobile number.
To create a nickname ("Nickname"@vtext.com):
- Click on "Nickname" under the "Preferences" section.
- Enter your desired wireless nickname and click the "Save Nickname" button.
Note: Nicknames may only contain the letters a-z and the number 0-9. If this nickname is already taken, you will be instructed to select another nickname.
To change a nickname:
- Click on the "Edit Nickname" button.
- Enter your new wireless nickname and click the "Save Nickname" button.
