How to Use Guide: Visual Voice Mail

Callback

Visual Voice Mail allows you to call the caller who left the voice mail message. Visual Voice Mail dials the number that placed the message.
  1. Select the message and press "Send" or select the message and press "Options".
  2. Select "Callback" and press "OK".
  3. When you end your call, Visual Voice Mail will return to the Inbox.
Callback may not be available for international numbers and is not available for calls from Caller ID blocked phones.

Reply

You can reply to a voice mail message with a voice mail, text, picture, or video message.
  1. Select the message and press "Options".
  2. Select "Reply" and press "OK".
  3. Select "voice mail", "text message", "picture", or "video" and press "OK".

    • When you select "Reply with Voice Mail", Visual Voice Mail will display the recipient’s name or phone number.

  4. Press "Record" to record your message.
  5. After recording your message, you can review your outgoing message or select from the "Priority and Sensitivity" options.
  6. When you’re done, press "Send".

    • Visual Voice Mail confirms that the message has been sent before returning to the Inbox. When you reply with a text message, picture, or video message, your phone’s text messaging, picture or video screen opens.
  7. After you send the message, Visual Voice Mail will return to the Inbox.
Note: Reply with Voice Mail is available only for Verizon Wireless customers and is not available for international numbers or calls from Caller ID blocked phones. Marking a message as Private will prevent the recipient from forwarding it. If a message is marked both High priority and Private, it will be marked as High priority. Visual Voice Mail will still recognize the message as Private and not present the Forward option.

Forward

Visual Voice Mail lets you forward a voice mail message to up to 10 recipients and provides the opportunity to record an introduction. Messages marked Private cannot be forwarded.

  1. Select the Inbox message and press "Options".
  2. Select "Forward" and press "OK".
  3. Use your phone’s keypad to add phone numbers or press "Add" to search your phone’s contact list.
    • Searching your contacts allows you to select a contact from your contact list and then select from that contact’s listed numbers.
    • While adding recipients, scroll up and down to move between recipient fields.
    • The counter shows how many recipients you’ve added.
  4. After you have added your recipients, press "OK". Visual Voice Mail will list your recipients and give you the opportunity to record an introduction to your forwarded message. (You may also select Priority and Sensitivity options or send the message without recording an introduction. See below.)
  5. Press "Record" to record your introduction.
  6. After recording your introduction, you can review it and select from the Priority and Sensitivity options.
  7. When you’re done, press "Send". Visual Voice Mail will confirm that the message has been sent before returning to the Inbox.
