LG VX 8100

Formatting Memory Card

Note: You must purchase miniSD cards separately.
  1. Power on device.
  2. Insert miniSD card into miniSD memory card slot.
  3. Power off, then power on handset (this will put the appropriate folders on the card).
  4. Remove miniSD card from the phone and insert in to PC using a USB SD card adapter with USB cable (if needed).
  5. On miniSD card, open folder named "My MP3s".
  6. Place MP3s in the My MP3 folder.
  7. Reinsert miniSD card into LG 8100.

Playing MP3 Files

With Flip Open

  1. Press "Get It Now" icon (right key on 4-way navigation button).
  2. Select "Get Tunes and Tones" (1).
  3. Select "My MP3s" (4).
  4. Screen will display stored music files.
  5. Press "OK" to play song.

With Flip Closed

  1. Press and hold the "Play/Pause" key on the front of the phone.
  2. Screen will display list of music files stored on miniSD.
  3. Press "Volume" key found on left side of phone to scroll music files.
  4. Press "Play/Pause" key to play song of choice.

Formatting Memory Card

Note: You must purchase MiniSD cards separately.
  1. Insert the MiniSD card into the memory port with the gold contacts facing down.
  2. With the flip open, press "OK", then press right on the Navigation Key twice for "SETTINGS & TOOLS".
  3. Select "System" (5) and select "Manage Memory" (4).
  4. Select "Card Memory" (3). Press the Right Soft Key for "Options" and select "Format" (1).
  5. Remove the MiniSD card and transfer your MP3 songs into the My MP3 folder using a MiniSD card reader.
  6. Insert the MiniSD card back into the phone.

Playing MP3 files

With Flip Open

  1. Press right on the Navigation Key.
  2. Select "Get Tunes & Tones" (1).
  3. Select "My MP3s" (4).
  4. Use the Navigation Key to select a song and press "OK".

    1. Note: To quickly access My MP3s menu with the flip closed, press "Up" on the Navigation Key.

Formatting Memory Card

Note: You must purchase T-Flash cards separately.
  1. Power on device.
  2. Insert T-Flash card into T-Flash expansion slot.
  3. Power off then power on handset (this will match the T-Flash to the handset).
  4. Remove T-Flash card from the phone and insert in to PC using a USB SD card adapter with USB cable (if needed).
  5. On T-Flash card, open folder named "Motorola", select "Shared" and choose "Audio".
  6. Place MP3s in the Audio folder.
  7. Reinsert T-Flash card into e815.

Playing MP3 Files

  1. Press "Menu" key.
  2. Select "Media Gallery".
  3. Select "Sounds".
  4. Press the "Menu" key.
  5. Scroll down to "Switch Storage Device".
  6. Press "right soft key" (select).
  7. Choose "T-Flash" and press "right soft key" (select).
  8. The screen will display the list of music files stored on T-Flash card.
  9. Scroll to the song of your choice and select "Play".

Formatting Memory Card

Note: You must purchase Trans Flash cards separately.
  1. Power on the device, and Insert T-Flash card into the memory card slot.
  2. Press the "Play/Pause" key to initiate the MP3 player. The My_MP3s folder will be created on the card.
  3. Remove the T-Flash card from the phone and insert it into a PC using an adapter and/or card reader.
  4. Go to your file directory on the PC. Transfer MP3 files from your PC to the "My_MP3s" folder directly on the T-Flash card.
  5. Reinsert the T-Flash card into the phone.

Playing MP3 Files

With Flip Open

  1. Press the "OK" key (MENU).
  2. Scroll to the left (2 clicks) to the "Get It Now" Menu.
  3. Select "OK" for "Get Tunes & Tones".
  4. Select "My MP3s".
  5. The screen will display the list of MP3 files you have stored to your T-Flash Card.
  6. Press the "left soft key" to play songs.

With Flip Closed

  1. Press and hold the external "Play/Pause" key to turn on the MP3 player.
  2. The screen will display the list of Music files you have stored to your T-Flash Card.
  3. Use the "jog dial" to scroll through your music files. Each quarter turn will scroll up or down one item.
  4. Press the "Play/Pause" key or the jog dial to play the song of your choice.
  5. Press the "Stop" key to turn off music playback. Press the "Stop" key again to exit MP3 Player.

Formatting Memory Card

Note: You must purchase miniSD cards separately.
  1. Power on device.
  2. Insert miniSD card into miniSD memory card slot.
  3. Power off, then power on handset (this will match SD card to handset).
  4. Remove miniSD card from phone and insert into PC.
  5. On PC, go to file directory where there is a file named with the phone’s Hex ESN. There will be 3 file folders (Flix, MP3, PIX).
  6. Store downloaded MP3 files in folder labeled MP3.
  7. Reinsert miniSD card into 8940.

Playing MP3 Files

With Flip Open

  1. Press "Menu" key.
  2. Select "Media Gallery".
  3. Select "Music".
  4. Screen will display stored music files.
  5. Press "OK" to play song.

With Flip Closed

  1. Press "Music Play/Pause" key.
  2. Screen will display list of music files stored on miniSD.
  3. Press "Volume" key found on right side of phone to scroll music files.
  4. Press "Music Play/Pause" key to play song of choice.
