How to Use Guide: Bluetooth® Dial-Up Networking* with VZAccess Manager

Making Your Device Discoverable

Below are the steps to make your device discoverable to your laptop. If you do not see your device below, please check your handset's user guide for Bluetooth instructions.

NOTE: To use the USB tethering, some devices require the user to change the PC Connection setting back to "USB."

LG VX8100

  1. Press "Menu".
  2. Navigate to "Settings & Tools".
  3. Select "PC Connection" and press "OK".
  4. Press "CLR" to return to previous Settings & Tools menu.
  5. Select "Bluetooth" and press "OK".
  6. Select "Power" and press "OK". If "Off", select "On" and press "OK".
  7. Select "My Visibility" and press "OK".
  8. Select "Show to All" and press "OK". The device will not be discoverable for 3 minutes.
  9. Continue with Step 11 under "Bluetooth Dial-Up Networking Set-up".

Motorola e815

  1. Press the "center soft key" button to access the menu.
  2. Scroll to select "Settings" and press "OK".
  3. Scroll to "Connection" and press "OK".
  4. Select "Bluetooth Link" and press "OK".
  5. Select "Setup" and press "OK".
  6. Select "Power." Use the "right soft key" to change power to "On". The Bluetooth indicator should display on the phone (this icon may be visible either on the main screen or the top display bar).
  7. Select "Find Me" and press "OK" to allow other Bluetooth devices to discover the handset for 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, the Bluetooth indicator will no longer be displayed.

LG VX8300 and LG Chocolate

  1. Press "Menu".
  2. Navigate to "Settings & Tools".
  3. Select "Bluetooth" and press "OK".
  4. Press the "left soft key" to turn Bluetooth on.
  5. Press the "right soft key" to select "Settings".
  6. Select "Discovery Mode" and press "OK".
  7. Select "On" or "Visible" and press "OK". Selecting "On" or "Visible" allows other Bluetooth devices to discover your handset for 60 seconds.

Motorola RAZR V3m and V3c

  1. Press "Menu".
  2. Navigate to the "Settings & Tools" tab and press "OK".
  3. Select "Connections" and press "OK".
  4. Select "Bluetooth" and press "OK".
  5. Select "Setup" and press "OK".
  6. Select "Power". Use the "right soft key to change power to "On". The Bluetooth indicator should display on the phone (this icon may be visible either on the main screen or the top display bar).
  7. Select "Find Me" and press "OK". "Find Me" allows other Bluetooth devices to discover your device for 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, the Bluetooth indicator will no longer be displayed.

Samsung SCH-a930 and Samsung SCH-a990

  1. Press the center "OK" button to access the menu.
  2. Navigate to the "Settings & Tools" tab and select "Phone Settings", then press "OK".
  3. Select "PC Connection" and press "OK".
  4. Select "Bluetooth" and press "OK".
  5. Press "CLR" to return to the previous "Settings & Tools" menu.
  6. Select "Bluetooth" and press "OK".
  7. Press the "left soft key" to turn Bluetooth on.
  8. Press the "right soft key" to select "Settings".
  9. Select "Discovery Mode" and press "OK".
  10. Select "On" or "Visible" and press "OK". "On" and "Visible" allows other Bluetooth devices to discover the handset for 60 seconds.

LG The V

  1. Press the center "OK" button to access the menu.
  2. Navigate to the "Settings & Tools" tab.
  3. Select "PC Connection" and press "OK".
  4. Under "PC Connection", select "Bluetooth" and press "OK".
  5. Return to "Settings & Tools" menu and select "Bluetooth" and press "OK".
  6. Select "Power" and press "OK". If "Off", select "On" and press "OK".
  7. Under the Bluetooth menu, select "My Visibility" and press "OK". Select "Shown to All" and press "OK". The device will now be visible to all other devices for 3 minutes.

LG enV

  1. Press "Menu".
  2. Navigate to the "Settings & Tools".
  3. Select "Bluetooth" and press "OK".
  4. Press the "left soft key" to turn Bluetooth on.
  5. Press the "right soft key" to select "Options".
  6. Select "Discovery Mode" and press "OK".
  7. Select "On" or "Visible" and press "OK". Selecting "On" or "Visible" allows other Bluetooth devices to discover your handset for 60 seconds.

Nokia 6315i

  1. Press "Menu".
  2. Navigate to "Settings & Tools".
  3. Select "Bluetooth" and press "OK".
  4. Press the "left soft key" to turn Bluetooth on.
  5. Press the "right soft key" to select "Options".
  6. Select "Discovery Mode" and press "OK".
  7. Select "On" or "Visible" and press "OK". Selecting "On" and "Visible" allows other Bluetooth devices to discover your handset for 60 seconds.
