What are email and text Alerts?
These are notifications about updates to your account that are sent to you by email and / or to your device via text message.

What type of information can I receive with Alerts?
There are four categories of Alerts that you can choose to receive:
- Bill ready
- Payment confirmations
- Account activity confirmations
- Other account activity

Can I choose the type of Alerts I want to receive?
Yes, you can select to receive either email or text Alerts, or both. Please note that some Alert categories are not available via text Alert.

How do I add an email address to my Alerts preferences?
To add an email address:
- Make sure you are signed in to My Verizon and go to the Email and Text Alert Preferences page.
- Click on the Edit Preferences button.
- Click on the Add More link in the By Email column for the desired Alert category.

Do text alerts count against my monthly messaging allowance?
No, text alerts sent by Verizon Wireless are free.

I am no longer a Verizon Wireless customer but am still receiving notifications by text and / or email. Why is this?
If you have canceled your service but are still receiving alerts, this could mean that you have an outstanding payment balance. Contact a Customer Service Representative at (800) 922-0204 to make your final payment.
