  1. Can I use my Verizon Wireless prepaid phone to make and receive calls and send and receive Text Messages when traveling internationally?

    Yes. You can use your current Verizon Wireless prepaid phone to make and receive calls and send and receive Text Messages in Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico, U.S. Virgin Islands and Bermuda. For service availability and rate information, visit the Prepaid International Services webpage.

  3. How do I make a call or send a Text Message when traveling internationally?

    The dialing pattern you would use depends on the destination of your call or message. If the destination is a North American Dialing Pattern (NANP) country, such as the United States, Canada or Puerto Rico, you would enter the 10-digit number as the destination phone number. For calls made inside Mexico to a Mexico number, you would need to use “011 + 52 + 10-digit number” in order to complete the call. Note that you may be asked to enter the 10-digit number you are dialing twice.

    If you are going to travel abroad to any of the available countries, dial *228 SEND to update your roaming capabilities before your trip.

    If you are roaming with your Verizon Wireless prepay phone, you can check your Voice Mail by dialing your Verizon Wireless mobile number, entering the # key and following the instructions.
