Skype is software for your PC that enables free calls over the Internet to people on Skype. Skype mobile for Verizon Wireless is the mobile version of that software developed to work on the Verizon Wireless network. With Skype mobile you can:
- Make and receive unlimited Skype-to-Skype calls or Instant Messages, from the U.S., to contacts on Skype
- Know when your friends are available to chat and connect in real time while you’re on the go
- Place low cost International calls using Skype Credit, plus these calls never count toward your Verizon Wireless calling plan
Initially Skype mobile will be available on select devices, including BlackBerry and Android 3G Smartphones; more devices will offer this application in the future.
Note: Customers with the Droid Eris by HTC will not be able to use Skype mobile while on the Extended Network until a software update becomes available. Learn more about the Software Update.
