    • Contacts backup:  Contacts that you save to your device are securely backed up and accessible from both the Web and your device.
    • Unified Inbox: You can access multiple email accounts from one place. Synchronize email between your Backup Assistant Plus Sync capable Smartphone and your Verizon online account. Visit only one website to read, reply, compose, and organize all the email in these accounts.
    • Integrated messaging: Send texts, pictures and videos messages from your My Verizon account online.
    • Online Setup: New to a Smartphone? You can set up your Backup Assistant Plus Sync account from the convenience of your My Verizon web account online.

  4. How much does Backup Assistant Plus Sync cost?

    Backup Assistant Plus Sync is included with your Verizon Wireless service. There are no subscription fees for the email service. When you access email from your mobile device, data charges may apply in accordance with your data package.

  6. How do I sign up for Backup Assistant Plus Sync?

    On Backup Assistant Plus Sync-capable devices, the service will be added to your account automatically when you set up your email via the device setup wizard.  If the service is not added to your account automatically, to sign up for Backup Assistant Plus Sync:

    •  From the Change Features page in My Verizon.

      Or

    • By calling Customer Service at (800) 922-0204 to add Backup Assistant Plus Sync to your account.

      Note: You must be the Account Owner to use this sign-up method.

    To set up Backup Assistant Plus Sync, go to the Backup Assistant Plus Sync page and proceed with the following steps:

    1. Accept the Terms of Service.

    2. Set up a Profile.

    3. Configure your desired sync points.

  9. What information do I need to log in to My Verizon?

    You need your My Verizon user ID and password to log in to My Verizon. If you don’t have a My Verizon or Media Center user ID, you can register at the My Verizon website.

  10. What is a Sync point?

    Sync points are locations that house your emails and contacts. Typically these are email accounts, email clients and mobile devices. For example, a customer with a Gmail account, a Yahoo! account and a Backup Assistant Plus Sync-capable device has at least three sync points.

  11. What information do I need to connect with Yahoo!, Gmail, AOL, or Windows Live Hotmail accounts from Backup Assistant Plus Sync?

    You need your Yahoo!, Gmail, AOL, or Windows Live Hotmail email address and password to connect.

  12. Can I connect with multiple accounts from the same email account service provider (e.g., Yahoo! , Gmail, AOL, or Windows Live Hotmail) from Backup Assistant Plus Sync?

    Yes, you can connect up to five email accounts per service provider, up to a maximum total of 12 accounts.

  13. Can I use Backup Assistant Plus Sync to access my device’s Contacts data from a computer?

    Yes, you can access and manage your device's Contacts list through your My Verizon account. There, you can view, add, edit, import, delete, print and export contacts. 

    Note: You must have Backup Assistant installed on your device and an active Backup Assistant subscription.

  14. Can I synchronize my Backup Assistant Plus Contacts to my device?

    You will be able to synchronize your Backup Assistant Plus Contacts to your device if you have an active Backup Assistant subscription on your device. Visit the Backup Assistant website for more information on setting up Backup Assistant for your device.

  15. How often does Backup Assistant Plus Sync synchronize data between my My Verizon account and my mobile device?

    Contact synchronization between My Verizon and your device occurs:

    • When you log in to the Backup Assistant Plus Sync website  by clicking the Contacts or Inbox link from the My Verizon website.

    • When you click on the Sync button in the top-right side of the Contacts or Inbox pages from the My Verizon website.

    • When you click the Backup Now button in the main screen of the Backup Assistant application on your device. Automatic daily backups (once a day) will also occur if you’ve updated your Contacts since the previous backup.

  16. What is the Sync button on my Backup Assistant Plus Sync Web account?

    Changes to your Contacts list automatically update daily. However, you can also synchronize your updates manually through the Sync button in the top-right side of the Contacts and Inbox pages on the My Verizon website.  You can also use the Sync button to synchronize your Contacts and Inbox changes with your mobile device's Contacts and connected Yahoo!®, Gmail™, AOL, or Windows Live® Hotmail® email accounts.

    Note: If the device is engaged in a voice call when Backup Assistant Plus Sync is attempting to push updates to the device, the updates will fail.

  17. Will email messages that I read in the Backup Assistant Plus Sync Inbox show as read in my Yahoo!, Gmail, AOL, or Windows Live Hotmail accounts?

    Yes, all the email messages that you read in Backup Assistant Plus Sync will show as read in your email accounts.

  18. What is the meaning of the Internet service provider (Yahoo!, Gmail, AOL, or Windows Live Hotmail accounts) icons associated with emails in my Inbox?

    The icons in your Inbox represent the source of each email. For example, an email containing the Yahoo! icon was initially received in the connected Yahoo! mailbox.

  19. Will I be able to send and receive text, picture and video messages (SMS/MMS) from the Backup Assistant Plus Sync website?

    Yes, you’ll be able to send and receive text, picture and video messages from the Backup Assistant Plus Sync website . You can also select to receive replies in the Backup Assistant Plus Sync Inbox or on your device, but you can’t receive replies at both locations.

  20. Will text, picture and video messages I send from the Backup Assistant Plus Sync Web Inbox appear in the “Sent” message section on my device?

    No, only messages sent from your device will appear in the “Sent” message section of your device.

  21. Will I see all of my available emails while using Backup Assistant Plus Sync?

    For Yahoo!, Gmail and AOL accounts, emails from only the past 30 days will be available in the Backup Assistant Plus Sync Inbox. For Windows Live Hotmail, emails from only the past 30 days or the latest 50 emails, whichever option requires less storage space, will be available.

  22. Can I cancel my Backup Assistant Plus Sync service?

    Yes, you can cancel Backup Assistant Plus Sync. From your My Verizon Home page, click on the Change Features button under the “I Want To...” menu, and follow the prompts to remove the Backup Assistant Plus Sync feature from your account. 

    Note: Once you cancel the service, you will no longer be able to connect to your email accounts through Backup Assistant Plus Sync or send and receive email from your Backup Assistant Plus Sync-capable device.

  23. If I cancel Backup Assistant Plus Sync, will I still be able to access my Inbox and Contacts from the My Verizon website?

    Once you cancel the service, you will no longer have access to the Inbox from My Verizon. If are using Backup Assistant Plus to sync contacts from your device, you can still access your device Contacts -from My Verizon.

  24. Will I be able to restore my old Contacts data if I cancel my Backup Assistant Plus Sync service by mistake?

    Yes, you will be able to access your previous Contacts if you sign up within 30 days of cancellation by adding Backup Assistant Plus Sync  to your account.

    Note: When you cancel Backup Assistant Plus Sync, all previously connected sync points are deleted. To enable synchronization, you must access the Backup Assistant application on your device and back up your Contacts data to your My Verizon account.

  25. How do I restore my old emails if I cancel my Backup Assistant Plus Sync service by mistake?

    When you cancel Backup Assistant Plus Sync, all previously connected sync points are deleted. You must reconnect to your Internet service providers (ISPs), such as Yahoo!, to restore ISP specific emails and enable email synchronization.
