  5. What effect will the change to Family SharePlan® have on my monthly access charges?

The enhancements to Family SharePlan change how monthly access charges are distributed. Family SharePlan requires two lines of service. In the previous format, the first line is billed a larger sum for the monthly access charge than the second line.

In the new format, you will see an account monthly charge, and then each line, including the first line, will be billed a smaller sum for the line’s monthly access charge. The total sum for monthly access charges will be a penny less than it was under the old Family SharePlan.

Visit our Account Family SharePlan bill page to see examples.

  6. Will the change to Family SharePlan® change my monthly allowances or per-minute rate?

The number of allowance minutes included in your plan will not change, nor will the total cost increase for any minutes used beyond your shared allowance.

However, you will see a change in the manner in which your shared allowances are distributed. In the previous format, any minutes used by the first line were deducted from the shared minute allowance. Any remaining minutes were then allocated to the next line that used the most minutes during the month, and so on, until all the allowance minutes were depleted. The new format will allow all the lines to draw from the allowances on a first come, first serve basis.
