  1. What is My Verizon Mobile (formerly My Verizon Handset)?

    My Verizon Mobile makes self-serve easier and more convenient than ever before. It allows postpay customers (Account Owner and end users who have been authorized to access these functions) to access self-serve functionality directly from a compatible handset. My Verizon Mobile provides the following functions:

    • Check Balance.
    • Check Usage: Minutes, Messages and KBU (Data).
    • Make Payments, Manage Payment Accounts, and Review Last 5 Payments.
    • View current Plan and Features.
    • Change Voice Mail Password.
    • Activate and Manage Friends & Family®.

    You can use My Verizon Mobile free of charge* -- you will not incur any airtime or megabyte charges when you use My Verizon Mobile in the National Enhanced Service Area.

    NOTE: Corporate Customers do not have access to My Verizon Mobile functions.

    *Data charges may be assessed for downloading the My Verizon Mobile application.

  2. If I am on a Family SharePlan®, will the usage and balance information that's displayed be for my mobile number or for the entire account?

    The Balance screen will display the account level balance. The usage screens (Minutes, TXT Messages, and Kilobytes) will display usage for the mobile number.

  3. Are there airtime or megabyte charges for accessing the usage and balance information through My Verizon Mobile?

    No, My Verizon Mobile is another free* self-serve option that we provide so you can get the information you want when you need it.

  4. How do I know if my handset is compatible with My Verizon Mobile?

    Handsets must be WAP capable to access My Verizon Mobile. If your handset has a color screen and is Internet-ready, you can get there from the Mobile Web browser, free of charge. Verify that your handset is WAP capable by visiting us online and selecting the Phones & Devices section of the Support Tab.

  5. What is the number following the date on usage screens in My Verizon Mobile? (Example: 12:15:20)

    This is the time reported from the billing system. The format is HH:MM:SS. Hours are in Civilian time (Example: 1:00 PM is reported as 1:00 PM).

    NOTE: The billing system may be in a different time zone.

  6. Why doesn't the date and time that's displayed in My Verizon Mobile match the current date and time?

    It is highly likely that they will not match the current time. The date and time presented are from the billing system. They represent the last time the billing system was updated with the information requested; additionally, the billing system may be in a different time zone.

  7. Can I access My Verizon Mobile using my BlackBerry® Device?

    Yes, if you have a BlackBerry 8130, 8830, 8330 or a Storm device, you can access My Verizon by downloading the application.

  8. Are there any charges for using or downloading the My Verizon Mobile application on my BlackBerry® device?

    Customers will not incur any airtime or megabyte charges for using the My Verizon application, however charges might be incurred for downloading the application.

  9. How do I access My Verizon from my handset?

    The way you access My Verizon may vary depending on the device, for example:

    WAP

    1. Launch Mobile Web.
    2. Select My Verizon from the VZStart page.
    3. View/Manage Account.

    PDA/Smartphone

    1. Launch Browser.
    2. VZStart page is displayed, if not enter the URL – http://mobile.vzw.com, into browser.
    3. Select My Verizon from the VZStart page.
    4. View/Manage your account.

    BlackBerry®

    1. Launch Browser.
    2. VZStart page is displayed.
    3. Select My Verizon from the VZStart page.
    4. Download the My Verizon application.
    5. After download is complete, revisit the BB landing page.
    6. Select My Verizon icon, created first time application is downloaded.
    7. View/Manage your account.

  10. How is data usage measured?

    Data can be measured in Kilobytes, Megabytes or Gigabytes. 
    1 Kilobyte (abbreviated KB ) is equal to 1024 bytes.
    1 Megabyte (abbreviated MB ) is equal to 1024 kilobytes
    1 Gigabyte (abbreviated GB ) is equal to 1024 megabytes

    For charges based on the amount of data usage, we round up to the next full MB or GB based on your plan.

  1. What is My Verizon Handset for Prepay?

    My Verizon Handset is an interface that allows you to manage your account right from your phone at your convenience!

    You can:

    • Check your balance and expiration.
    • Make a one time payment using your debit/credit card or sign-up for Auto Pay.
    • Load a refill card/PIN to add airtime to your account.
    • Find nearest replenishment locations.
    • Reset or change your Account Security Code and voice mail password.
    • View your plan information and usage details.

    For credit/debit card payments:

    • Select "Make a Pmt" from the My Account Main Menu.
    • Or, to load a refill card/PIN, select "Add Refill Card" from the Main Menu.

  7. What refill options are available via my handset?

    You may make a one time credit card payment or sign-up for recurring automatic payments as well as load a refill card/PIN to your account from your phone. You may also save credit card information for future use, update or remove your card information.

    You may check your current account balance and expiration or “good thru” date by selecting the "Balance" option from the My Verizon Main Menu.

    The "Pmt Locator" option within Prepay My Verizon Mobil allows you to find the nearest replenishment locations by entering your zip code or searching by state/city.

  10. What are the balance details for my Prepay plan?

    You may access your rate plan information through Prepay My Verizon Mobile by selecting "My Plan" from the main menu. You can also view your call details with descriptions, including balance under the "Usage" option available from the My Account Main Menu on your phone.
