GPS over Wi-Fi® - Verizon Jetpack™ 4G LTE Mobile HotSpot - MiFi® 4620L
The GPS over Wi-Fi® setting allows the MiFi device to provide a GPS (NMEA) stream to a Windows or Mac computer. This is only useful if running an application that is capable of utilizing a NMEA GPS stream (e.g. Microsoft Streets & Trips, DeLorme Street Atlas).
To utilize GPS over Wi-Fi®, a driver must be installed on the computer.
- Access the Administration Web Interface.
- From the Advanced tab, click Settings.
- From the Router section, select GPS over Wi-Fi® (NMEA).
Enabled when a check mark is present.
If presented, review the agreement then click Ok to continue.
- Click Save.
- If GPS over Wi-Fi® (NMEA) is enabled, launch the GPS-enabled application on the computer then configure it to utilize a NMEA port or GPS receiver.
Refer to the application's help menu or contact the application developer for assistance.
Once the application has found the NMEA port / GPS receiver, it should report "Waiting for GPS" or similar until a GPS fix is obtained. After that, it will use or display the current GPS location.
