Windows Device Manager Conflicts - Samsung Convoy 2 SCH-U660

Start Device Manager.

  • Windows 8
    • Right-Click Start Screen > All Apps > Control Panel > System and Security > Device Manager.
  • Windows 7
    • Click Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Device Manager.
  • Windows Vista
    • Click Start > (Settings) Control Panel > (System and Maintenance) > Device Manager.
      Note If prompted, click Continue.
  • Windows 2000 / XP
    • Click Start > (Settings) Control Panel > (Performance and Maintenance) > System > Hardware > Device Manager.

The following devices are normally installed:

Modems
SAMSUNG Mobile Modem
Ports (COM & LPT)
SAMSUNG Mobile Modem Diagnostic Serial Port (COM x)
Universal Serial Bus controllers
SAMSUNG USB Composite Device

Note If a conflict is present, a red X, yellow ! or yellow ? is displayed to the left of a listed device or may be indicated by a device entry labeled Other Devices or Unknown. The drivers must be updated or reinstalled.

If a conflict is present:

  1. Ensure that the device drivers are installed. Refer to Installing USB drivers or Downloading and installing V CAST Media Manager for additional assistance.
    Note If the device drivers are installed and a conflict is still present, continue to step 2.
  2. Right-click the device then click Update Driver Software.
    Note If using Windows 2000 / XP, right-click the device then click Update Driver.
    Note The device name may differ from the example shown.

  3. Click Browse my computer for driver software.
    Note If using Windows 2000 / XP, select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) then click Next.

  4. Enter C:\Program Files\Samsung\Drivers 4.40 into the search window then click Next.
    Note If using Windows 2000 / XP, ensure that Search for the best driver in these locations and Include this location in the search are selected.
    Note The driver location can be entered manually or navigated to by clicking Browse.
    Note If the drivers are not located, enter C:\Program Files\Samsung\Drivers 4.24 then click Next.

  5. Click Close.
    Note If using Windows 2000 / XP, click Finish.
