Note If using Microsoft® Exchange / Corporate sync, some Screen lock options (e.g. Face Unlock, Pattern, PIN) may be unavailable.

Setup screen lock

  1. From the home screen, select Apps.

  2. From the APPS tab, select Settings.

  3. From the PERSONAL section, select Security.

  4. From the SCREEN SECURITY section, select Screen lock.
    Note If presented, enter the current PIN / Password / Pattern.

  5. Select one of the following: Select screen lock with available options

 

 

Face Unlock

Note Facial recognition is utilized to access the device.

  1. Select Set it up.

  2. Select Continue.
    For best results overview with Continue
  3. Using the front-facing camera, position face within the provided area.
    Note Hold still for several seconds to allow image capture.

  4. Select Continue.

  5. Select one of the following: Choose backup lock with available options

Pattern

Note An unlock pattern is created then utilized to access the device.

Note The pattern drawn in the images below is merely an example.

  1. If presented, select Next.

  2. Draw an unlock pattern (connecting at least 4 dots) then select Continue.

  3. Re-draw the pattern then select Confirm.

  4. If presented "You're all done", select OK.

PIN

Note A PIN number is created then utilized to access the device.

  1. Enter a numeric PIN (4 to 16 digits) then select Continue.

  2. Re-enter the numeric PIN then select OK.

  3. If presented "You're all done", select OK.

Password

Note A password is created then utilized to access the device.

  1. Enter a password (4 to 16 characters) then select Continue.

Pattern

  1. Press the Power button.

  2. Draw the current Unlock pattern.
    Note If the pattern is unknown, enter an incorrect pattern 5 times.

    1. If presented, select OK.

    2. Select Forgot pattern.

    3. Enter the appropriate information into the following fields then select Sign in:
      Note If the Google account information is unknown, it can be recovered.
      • Username (email)
      • Password

    4. Select a new Security lock type.
