Hard Reset - HTC Rezound™

Warning Performing a hard reset removes all data including the Google account, system data, app data, app settings, and downloaded apps. Only perform a hard reset if absolutely necessary.
 
Warning Pictures, Videos and Music are also removed. It is recommended to backup this data.
Note If the Preferred Method is not available, there is an Alternate Method.
 
Note Personal data such as Wi-Fi passwords, Browser bookmarks, User dictionary, a list of installed Market apps and other customized settings can be backed up to and restored from Google's servers.
Note When attempting to determine if a 3rd party app is the cause of an operating system / app issue on a device that does not support Automatic Restore, skip the Google Account setup during the initial setup of the device.
  

Preferred Method

  1. From the Home screen, select All apps.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Storage.
  4. Select Factory data reset.
  5. Check the desired erase options then select Reset phone.
  6. Select Erase Everything.
  7. To Setup the device, refer to Initial Activation & Setup.

Alternate Method

  1. Press and hold down the Power key (upper-right corner).
  2. Select Power Off.
  3. Remove then re-insert the battery. Refer to Inserting/removing the battery for assistance.
  4. While holding down the Volume Down key, press the Power/End key. When the device vibrates, release the Power/End key.
    Note When the HBOOT screen appears, release the Volume Down key.
  5. Press the Volume Down key to select Factory Reset then press the Power key (upper-right corner).
    Note This boot process takes several moments, check the progress bar located in the upper-right. If the device hangs or freezes, remove/replace the battery, refer to Inserting / removing the battery for assistance.
  6. To Setup the device, refer to Initial Activation & Setup.
