Hard Reset - Rhyme™ by HTC

Warning Performing a hard reset removes all data including the Google account, system data, app data, app settings, and downloaded apps. Only perform a hard reset if absolutely necessary.
 
Warning Pictures, Videos and Music are also removed. It is recommended to backup this data.
 
Note Personal data such as Wi-Fi passwords, Browser bookmarks, User dictionary, a list of installed Market apps and other customized settings can be backed up to and restored from Google's servers.
 
Note Disable Automatic Restore prior to performing a hard (factory) reset when attempting to determine whether a 3rd party app is the cause of an Operating System / App issue.
 
Note If the preferred method is not available, there is an Alternate Method.
 
Preferred Method
  1. From the Home screen, select applications (located in the lower-left corner of the display).
  2. From the All apps tab, select Settings.
  3. Select SD & phone storage.
  4. Select Factory data reset.
  5. Select Reset phone.
  6. Select Erase Everything.
  7. Refer to Initial Activation and Setup.

Warning Before attempting the alternate Hard Reset method on the HTC Rhyme, verify that Fast Boot mode is disabled. Refer to Enable/Disable Fast Boot for assistance.

Alternate Method

  1. Press and hold down the Power button (upper-right corner).
  2. Select Power Off.
  3. Press and hold the volume down key then briefly press the Power button.
    Note When the screen with the three androids appears, release the volume down key.
  4. Press the volume down key to select Factory Reset then press the Power button.
    Note This boot process takes several moments, reference the progress bar located in the upper-right.
  5. Refer to Initial Activation and Setup.
