Hard Reset - Samsung Gem SCH-I100

Caution Performing a hard reset will remove ALL data including the Google account, system data, application data, application settings and downloaded applications. Only perform this reset if absolutely necessary.

Note When attempting to determine if a 3rd party application is the cause of an operating system / application issue on a device that does not support Automatic Restore, skip the Google Account setup during the initial setup of the device.

  1. From the home screen, select Applications.

  2. Select Settings.

  3. Select Privacy.

  4. From the Personal data section, select Factory Data Reset.

  5. Select Reset Phone.
    Note If presented, enter the current passcode or draw the unlock pattern.

  6. Select Erase Everything.

Alternate method

  1. Press and hold the Power button.

  2. Select Power off.

  3. Press and hold the Volume down key+Send key+Power button simultaneously until the Samsung logo appears then release.

  4. From the Android system recovery screen, select wipe data/factory reset.
    Note Utilize the Volume up / down keys to highlight and the Home key (diamond shaped key) to select.

  5. Press the Volume up key to continue.

  6. Select reboot system now.
    Note Allow up to 3 minutes for the reset process to complete.
