Setup screen lock

  1. From the Home screen, select the applications tab (located at the bottom of the display).
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Location & security.
  4. From the Security section, select Set up screen lock / Change screen lock.
    Note If presented, enter the current PIN / Password / Pattern.
  5. Select one of the following options:

 

 

 

Pattern

Note An Unlock pattern is created then used to access the device.

Note The pattern drawn in the images below is only an example.

  1. If prompted, select Next.
  2. If prompted, select Next.
  3. Draw a pattern on the screen connecting at least four dots then select Continue.
  4. Re-draw the pattern then select Confirm.
  5. Select OK.
  6. Select a security question then select Continue.
    • What is your mother's maiden name?
    • What is your place of birth?
    • What is your favorite place?
    • What is your favorite film?
  7. Enter the security question answer then select Done.
  8. Select Confirm.

PIN

Note A PIN number is created then used to access the device.

  1. Enter a numeric PIN then select Continue.
  2. Re-enter the numeric PIN then select OK.

  1. Enter a password then select Continue.
  2. Re-enter the password then select OK.

Security lock (Lock the device)

Note Security lock is engaged once the device has been idle for a specified length of time (e.g. 1 minute, 5 minutes, 20 minutes, etc.) then the display is turned off.

  • Press the Power button to turn the display off.
    Note If Screen timeout is enabled, the display will automatically turn off once the device has been idle for a specified length of time (e.g. 15 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, etc.). To adjust the Screen timeout, refer to Display settings for assistance.

  2. Select and hold the unlock symbol (located in the lower-left) then swipe to the right.
