Hard Reset - DROID INCREDIBLE 2 by HTC

Warning Performing a hard reset removes all data including the Google account, system data, app data, app settings, and downloaded apps. Only perform a hard reset if absolutely necessary.

Warning Pictures, Videos and Music are also removed. It is recommended to backup this data.
Note If the preferred method is not available, use the Alternate Method.
 
Note Personal data such as Wi-Fi passwords, Browser bookmarks, User dictionary, a list of installed Market apps and other customized settings can be backed up to and restored from Google's servers.

Note Disable Automatic Restore prior to performing a hard (factory) reset when attempting to determine whether a 3rd party app is the cause of an Operating System / App issue. 

Preferred Method

  1. From a home screen, select the applications tab (located in the lower left).
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select SD & phone storage.
  4. Select Factory data reset.
  5. Select Reset phone.
  6. Select Erase Everything.
  7. Perform Initial Activation/Setup.

Alternate Method

  1. Press the Power button for 3 - 5 seconds.
  2. Select Power off.
    Note If the device isn't responding proceed with step 3.
  3. Remove/replace the battery.
  4. Press and hold the Volume down key then press and hold the Power button for 3 to 5 seconds.
  5. When the HBOOT screen appears, release the Volume down key.
  6. Press the Volume key to select FACTORY RESET then press the Power button.
    Note This boot process takes several moments. If the device hangs or freezes, remove/replace the battery.
  7. Perform Initial Activation/Setup.
