Hard Reset - DROID INCREDIBLE 2 by HTC
Performing a hard reset removes all data including the Google account, system data, app data, app settings, and downloaded apps. Only perform a hard reset if absolutely necessary.
Disable Automatic Restore prior to performing a hard (factory) reset when attempting to determine whether a 3rd party app is the cause of an Operating System / App issue.
- From a home screen, select the applications tab (located in the lower left).
- Select Settings.
- Select SD & phone storage.
- Select Factory data reset.
- Select Reset phone.
- Select Erase Everything.
- Perform Initial Activation/Setup.
- Press the Power button for 3 - 5 seconds.
- Select Power off.
If the device isn't responding proceed with step 3.
- Remove/replace the battery.
- Press and hold the Volume down key then press and hold the Power button for 3 to 5 seconds.
- When the HBOOT screen appears, release the Volume down key.
- Press the Volume key to select FACTORY RESET then press the Power button.
This boot process takes several moments. If the device hangs or freezes, remove/replace the battery.
- Perform Initial Activation/Setup.
