Initial Activation and Setup - DROID Pro by MOTOROLA

  1. Select the android.
  2. Select Activate (located in the lower-right).
    Note If not presented, skip to step 5.
  3. Listen to the instructions then select 1 when prompted.
    Note To enable the Speakerphone, select Speaker (located in the lower-right).
    Note Stay on the line until activation confirmation is heard.
  4. Select Next.
  5. Select one of the following options:

 

 

Create a Google Account

  1. Enter the appropriate information into the following fields:
    Note If necessary, slide the keyboard to the open position.
    • First name
    • Last name
    • Username
  2. Select Next (located in the lower-right).
  3. Enter a password into the following fields:
    Note The password must be at least 8 characters.
    • Type a password
    • Confirm password
  4. Select Next.
  5. Enter the appropriate information into the following fields:
    • Security question
      • Frequent flyer number?
      • Library card number?
      • First phone number?
      • First teacher's name?
      • Father's middle name?
    • Answer
    • Secondary Email
  6. Select Create (located in the lower-right).
  7. Review the Google Terms of Service then select I agree, Next (located in the lower-right) to continue creating the account.
  8. Enter the appropriate characters then select Next.
  9. Configure the following location settings then select Next (located in the lower-right).
    Note Enabled when a green indicator is present.
    • Allow Google's location service to collect anonymous location data. Collection will occur even when no applications are running.
    • Use My Location for Google search results and other Google services.
  10. Configure the following Backup and restore settings then select Next.
    Note Enabled when a green indicator is present.
    • Keep this device backed up with my Google Account.
  11. Select Finish setup. (located in the lower-right)
  12. To restore data (e.g. contacts) using Backup Assistant, enter the appropriate PIN then select Submit (located in the lower-left).
    Note If Backup Assistant has not been previously setup for the 10-digit mobile number, select Skip (located in the lower-right).
    Note Backup Assistant setup can be resumed after completing initial setup by navigating App menu > Backup Assistant from the home screen.
  13. If applicable, select an existing service (e.g. Facebook, MySpace, Yahoo! Mail, etc) enter the appropriate credentials (e.g. email address, username, password, etc.) then select Next.
    Note If presented, review the Terms and Conditions, select I agree then select Next to continue service setup.
    Note Repeat this step as necessary to setup additional services.
  14. Select Done adding accounts.
    Note Account setup can be resumed after completing initial setup by navigating App menu > My Accounts > Add account from the home screen.

Sign in to an existing Google Account

  1. Enter the appropriate information into the following fields:
    Note If necessary, slide the keyboard to the open position.
    • Username
    • Password
  2. Select Sign in (located in the lower-right).
  3. Configure the following location settings then select Next (located in the lower-right).
    Note Enabled when a green indicator is present.
    • Allow Google's location service to collect anonymous location data. Collection will occur even when no applications are running.
    • Use My Location for Google search results and other Google services.
  4. Configure the following Backup and restore settings then select Next.
    Note Enabled when a green indicator is present.
    • Restore from my Google Account to this device.
    • Keep this device backed up with my Google Account.
  5. Select Finish setup. (located in the lower-right)
