Install System Updates - LG Ally VS740
The software update requires at least 40% battery level if not connected to an external power source and 20% or more if connected.
Ensure the Upgrade Utility for Ally is installed on the device before performing the update. Refer to Download and Install Applications for assistance. Search for Upgrade Utility for Ally.
If roaming outside the Verizon Wireless coverage area, a install system update notice will not be received. To receive the install system update over a Wi-Fi network, refer to Set Up WiFi Connection for assistance then check for a install system update.
If a install system update is installed, it may be necessary to update applications downloaded via the Android Market.

- If prompted with a install system update, select the one of the following:
- Install now
- The device will restart and install the update.
- Install later
- The update can be done later by Checking for install system updates.

- Provides install system update information and the option to restart and install the update.
Checking for install system updates
Install System updates does not manually check for updates. It allows installing update packages that were previously downloaded but not installed.
- From the home screen, select the applications tab (bottom of the screen).
- Select Settings.
- Select About Phone.
- Select Install System updates.
- If presented, select Restart & Install.
- The device will restart and install the install system update.
