Set Up Wi-Fi® Connection - BlackBerry® Storm2™ 9550 smartphone

If set up on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES), Wi-Fi® access may be restricted. Contact the local IT / BES Administrator for assistance.

1. From the Home screen, press the Menu button.
   
2. Select Manage Connections.
   
3. Select Set Up Wi-Fi® Network.
   
4. If presented, select Next.

Scan For Networks

1. Select Scan For Networks.
   If prompted, select Turn Wi-Fi® on.
   
2. Select the desired Wi-Fi® network.
   If prompted This wireless router supports Wi-Fi® Protected Set Up. To connect using a PIN click Next, refer to Wi-Fi® Protected Set Up using a PIN for further assistance.
   
3. Ensure that all available Wi-Fi® Security settings (e.g. security type, pre-shared key, user name, password, etc.) are configured correctly then select Connect.
   Depending upon the type of security set up on the Wi-Fi® access point / router, the options presented may vary. Contact the local IT / Network Administrator for assistance with these settings.

Manually Add Network

To obtain the Wi-Fi® settings needed to complete the following steps, contact the local IT / Network Administrator.

1. Select Manually Add Network.
   
2. Enter the appropriate Network Name (SSID) then select Add.
   
3. Select the appropriate option from the Security Type field.
   • No Security
   • WEP
   • Pre-Shared Key (PSK)
     Generally used with WPA / WPA2.
   • PEAP
   • LEAP
   • EAP-TLS
   • EAP-FAST
   • EAP-TTLS
   
4. Ensure that all available Wi-Fi® Security settings (e.g. pre-shared key, user name, password, etc.) are configured correctly then select Connect.
   Depending upon the Security Type selected, the options presented may vary.
   If prompted, select Turn Wi-Fi® on
   
5. Ensure that the desired name is entered into the Profile Name field then select Next.
   
6. Select Finish.

Push Button Set Up

If connecting to a Wi-Fi® access point / router that supports Wi-Fi® Protected Access (WPA) and Push Button Configuration (PBC), the Push Button Set Up option can be utilized to simplify the connection process.

To complete the following steps, access to the Wi-Fi® access point / router administration screen is required. Contact the local IT / Network Administrator for assistance before proceeding with this set up option.

1. Select Push Button Set Up.
   
2. Select Next.
   
3. Ensure that Wi-Fi® Protected Set Up has been initiated on the Wi-Fi® access point / router then select Done.
   
4. Select Save Profiles.
   
5. Ensure that the desired name is entered into the Profile Name field then select Next.
   
6. Select Finish.

Wi-Fi® Protected Set Up using a PIN

To complete the following steps, access to the Wi-Fi® access point / router administration screen is required. Contact the local IT / Network Administrator for assistance before proceeding.

1. Select Next.
   
2. Enter the 8-digit PIN (represented by the x's in the image below) into the Wi-Fi® access point / router administration screen.
   The 8-digit PIN is randomly generated by the BlackBerry device.
   
3. Select Save Profiles.
   
4. Ensure that the desired name is entered into the Profile Name field then select Next.
   
5. Select Finish.
