Configure synchronization settings (Advanced) - BlackBerry Desktop Manager (Windows)

Note Basic configuration must be completed for Advanced settings to be available. Refer to Configure synchronization settings for assistance.

BlackBerry Desktop Manager v4.x / 5.x

  1. Ensure the device is connected to the computer via the supplied USB cable.
  2. Launch BlackBerry Desktop Software.
    Note From the Windows desktop, navigate Start > Programs (All Programs) > BlackBerry > Desktop Manager.
  3. Click Synchronize.

  4. From the left menu, click Synchronization (located below Configure).

  5. Click Synchronization.

  6. Select one of the following Device applications then click Advanced:
    • Calendar
    • MemoPad
    • Address Book
    • Tasks

  7. Click Map Folder.

  8. Ensure the appropriate folders are mapped then click OK.

  9. From the Confirmations section, ensure the desired settings are selected (checked).
    Confirm record deletions (Recommended)
    A confirmation of deleted items will be displayed.
    Confirm changes and additions (Recommended)
    A confirmation of changes and additions will be displayed.

  10. Click Conflict Resolution.

  11. Ensure the desired setting is selected then click OK.
    Add all conflicting items
    All conflicting items will be added.
    Ignore all conflicting items
    Conflicting items will not be added.
    Notify me when conflict occur
    A prompt will be displayed with options to resolve the conflicting items.
    Device wins
    Items from the device will be added.
    Desktop application (e.g. Microsoft® Outlook) wins
    Items from the desktop application will be added.

  12. Click Filters.

  13. Ensure the desired filters are selected / added then click OK.

  14. Click Map Fields.

  15. Ensure that fields are mapped appropriately then click OK.

  16. Click OK.

  17. Repeat steps 6 through 16 as necessary to configure additional advanced application settings.

  1. Ensure the device is connected to the computer via the supplied USB cable.

  3. From the left menu, click Organizer.

  4. From the Synchronization Settings section, click Configure settings.

  5. Select one of the following Device applications then click Advanced:
    • Calendar
    • MemoPad
    • Address Book
    • Tasks
